Experience Counts! Today, facility managers are seeking better ways to increase energy efficiency while lowering operating expenses. Our team of experts will work with you to determine the right heat package solution based on your application needs.

Instantaneous Water Heaters

Advantages:

  • An instantaneous water heater saves you money over time, due to far superior energy efficiency
  • They require significantly less storage space than a storage tank water heater
  • You will have unlimited hot water whenever you need it. The hot water is available in seconds instead of the minutes it typically takes for a tank heater

Disadvantages:

  • Instantaneous water heaters generally have a higher purchase cost, when compared with traditional storage tank water heaters
  • Installation can be more expensive, based on how much (if any) retrofitting is needed
  • You could be “output challenged” if maximum usage were calculated incorrectly
Tank

Traditional Water Heaters

Advantages:

  • Reliability since the technology is tried and true; parts are readily available for repairs
  • High flow rate supports multiple applications simultaneously

Disadvantages:

  • Promotes Legionella growth through various ways – sediment collecting in tank, temperature not kept at 140 degrees, and breeds in pipes where stagnant hot water cools below 120 degrees
  • Energy waste is experienced because it is constantly heating water whether you’re using it or not
  • Large footprint required and not recommended to be installed outside due to heat loss
  • Maintenance needs require flushing your water heater at least once per year
